Brenmiller is also conducting a separate 1-MWth pilot with NYPA that pairs a bGen™ module with a microturbine for a combined-heat-and-power (CHP) application to improve efficiency and provide flexibility.

Prior to this project, EPRI had reviewed Brenmiller’s technology, which is being built to demonstrate bGen™ at 1.7 MWe on a solar plant (Rotem) and has been designed for an NGCC facility in Italy, assessing it at technology readiness level (TRL) 5. The study also included a techno-economic evaluation of a 200 MWh commercial-scale demonstration.
